School Improvement and Accountability

The School Improvement and Accountability Act of 1991 set the state for change in schools, set high standards and held schools accountable for improved student performance.

The 1999 legislature enacted legislation to ensure that every child gain a year's worth of knowledge in each school year.   Today the federal No Child Left Behind Act demands that all students in all demographic sub-groups meet high standards.
