School Improvement and Accountability
The School Improvement and Accountability Act of 1991 set the state for change in schools, set high standards and held schools accountable for improved student performance.
The 1999 legislature enacted legislation to ensure that every child gain a year's worth of knowledge in each school year. Today the federal No Child Left Behind Act demands that all students in all demographic sub-groups meet high standards.
Your child's school needs you!! To become a member of a School Advisory Council (SAC), contact the school principal for information. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL TRAINING Training for SAC Chairs, new SAC members, or other interested persons will be provided upon request. Please contact: Rhodia Berry at Federal Programs/School Improvement-Phone 620-7652.
