Management Information Services

The duties and responsibilities currently performed by the MIS Department are as follows.

Student database management (including data corrections, updating, reporting and auditing)

  • All electronic student record transfers via FASTER
  • Student registration (data, procedure and timelines)
  • Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) (student funding formula) projections
  • Local electronic FTE reporting, FTE editing (amendments) and FTE correction four times annually
  • DOE end of year Survey 5 reporting and correction for 18 formats with additional FTE data entry for Advance Placement, AICE Program test data, AICE diploma, IB Program test data, and IB diploma
  • Local contact for DOE MIS requests
  • Liaison with Applications Department for DOE file changes
  • Authorization, creation or modification of user security for student database
  • Annual state SESIR (school crime & violence) reporting
  • Florida School Indicators Report data collection/analysis/submission
  • Assist CFCC CROP, Take Stock, and YMCA Youth Achievers program by providing student data to track & monitor student achievement
  • Provide student data for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) determination
  • Provide student data for Class Size Amendment calculation
  • Advance Placement and IB Program stipends for teachers
  • Generation of 20-day membership reports
  • Data entry and reporting of expelled and alternatively placed students
  • District Student Database training
  • Development of "HOW TO" documents for student information processes
  • Provide coverage for district's HELPDESK system and Receptionist
  • Manage user access for district-to-student database
  • Provide daily absentee reports to DOH
  • Maintain district MSID for DOE
  • Create and develop user manuals, as appropriate, for student database

Student Scheduling

  • "Regional Leader" concept used to provide direct support to district's 65+ school sites and programs
  • Dropout Prevention student data and reporting
  • GED student tracking and data updates for graduation rates
  • Submission of all Bright Futures Information three times per year
  • Daily submission of all transcript requests (inter-district, colleges and universities)
  • Superintendent requests for data, analysis and/or research
  • Deputy Superintendent requests for data, analysis and/or research
  • School Board Member requests for data, analysis and/or research
  • Switchboard telephone information requests when topic is unknown
