Technology class

According to the National Educational Technology Standards, "To live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society, students must be able to use technology effectively". Technology gives humanity unbounded access to information which can be used to solve the toughest of problems and foster effective communication and learning. Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than simply teaching basic computer skills or software programs; it means using technology as a tool to support learning. Our goal for students at MSA is to be able to work fluently and collaboratively by researching, creating and learning in a digital environment. To this end, our technology program includes several components listed below:

  • Computer Navigation and File Management
  • Keyboard fluency
  • Productivity software (Microsoft Office)
  • Online Research skills
  • Digital Art and Design
  • Internet skills
    • Safety
    • Etiquette
    • Copyright issues
    • Navigation
    • Online learning

Mrs. Cindy Leppala is our Technology instructor; she also sponsors Digital Publishing Club and Graphics Arts Club.
