If you were not in class, please respond in writing to the following review questions using details from chapter 10 of the novel to help you.

Chapter 10 review questions:

1. Contrast how Scout feels about how Atticus measures up to the other fathers at the start of the chapter and how Jem feels about Atticus at the end of the chapter.

2. How does the incident with the mad dog change Scout’s mind about her original opinion of her father?

3. Why do you think Atticus chose to become a lawyer to defend people through words despite his ability with the shotgun?

You were meant to have completed 7-8 over the weekend. If you did not, please read them today and respond to the following prompts:

1. What two strange natural events occur in chapter 8?

2. Write a paragraph which compares and contrasts the effects that each event had on Jem, Scout, and their neighbors.

paragraphs should be at least 5 sentences, using at least 3 pieces of evidence from the chapter.

 

Following that, you need to complete the reading log and read to the end of chapter 10.

research paper note cards Due: Friday, February 15, 2013

Remember, your notecards are due Friday, February 15th.

Each card should include:

1.  title of book/website

2. author

3. quote or paraphrased information you will include in your paper

4. the subtopic the information relates to. (ex. If your topic was Jamaica, your subtopics might be culture, climate/geography, and economy/jobs)

5. type of source (book, website, etc).
