Employment Opportunities

Please check our website often. At Community Education, we are always looking for new instructors!
 
Instructors for adult academic classes (GED, Adult Basic Education, or English for Speakers of Other Languages) must have a state teaching certificate or be eligible for certification as part-time instructors through Community Education. To be eligible for certification through Community Education you must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
 
Instructors for vocational classes must also be certified. They can already hold a state teaching certificate in the area they are going to teach or be certified as part-time vocational instructors through Community Education. To be eligible for certification through Community Education, prospective instructors must hold a bachelors degree in the area they are going to teach and provide documentation of two years work experience or provide documentation of high school graduation and six years of work experience in the field they are going to teach. A Combination of the two can also be worked out with Human Resources.
 
Prospective vocational instructors that hold valid state or national licenses in the field they are going to teach must provide documentation of high school graduation, licensure, and two years of work experience in the field they are going to teach.
 
Instructors for the Urban Search and Rescue or Fire Fighter Minimum Standards must provide documentation of high school graduation and six years full-time experience in the field plus hold an Instructor I certificate from the State Fire Marshall.
 
Our recreational course instructors must provide documentation of expertise in the field they want to teach.
