Welcome, students and parents!  This is going to be an exciting year full of changes.  As a team, we will meet each challenge and work to exceed our own expectations. 

Some new things are coming down the line in U.S. History Honors.  The first is the expanded curriculum.  We will be covering from the beginning of the Civil War (1860) through current events with a new state-mandated end-of course exam that will be administered in late April.  This exam will count as 30% of the yearly grade.  After we complete this assessment, we will be working on some enrichment activities.  Some of that will include looking at our founding documents which will help prepare you for American Government.  Our goal this year is to start thinking like a historian...lots of reading, discussion, analysis and writing.  I hope you are as excited as I am!

On the theatre front (or should I say "stage"), for the first time in several years, we have the opportunity for advanced drama students to have a class of their own.  We will continue to hone your performance skills while we explore technical theatre as well.  For those of you taking theatre/drama for the first time, you will find it an engaging class...not a lot of time spent in your seats in this course!
