Dear parents and students,
Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. I' m expecting to have a fruitful year of learning. Teaching 8th grade Spanish is for me a great opportunity to help widen young minds to appreciate new cultures. I have high expectations that my students will find this class motivating and useful. As a second language learner myself, I really appreciate the value of knowing more than one language. I am on the road to learning a third langauge, because I want to keep growing in my own life and because I want to relate to my students' journeys as they acquire fluency in Spanish.
I was born in Mexico and earned my first degree there in Communications. I received a Liberal Arts B.A. degree and my first teaching credential from Cal State East Bay. I have a teaching certificate from the state of Florida in K-12 Spanish, Elementary Education, and ESOL. I have been working in the classroom for fourteen years; this is my eigth year as a teacher in Marion County schools. I love working with youngsters because I believe teaching is a two way avenue. I will give my best and I am sure I will gain knowledge and inspiration from working with you.
