“Live@edu”
Wednesday, October 14, 2009WCJB TV20 news had a segment on the new technology at Lake Weir High School on their Thursday, October 8, evening edition.
The partnership with Microsoft Live@Edu (http://my.liveatedu.com) was a year in the making with the help of Scott Hansen. Without this 25GB storage device, we would not be able to offer the wireless service here using affordable net-books and other mini-laptop devices.
Until now, only college campuses were able to access this service. We are the first K-12 site in the nation to be using this technology.
In a few weeks, Microsoft will be sending a film crew to tape Lake Weir High School students, teachers, and campus using this application and technology. We will be on their web-site and from this, other secondary schools in Marion County will be able to use this technology.
It is a wonderful experience to be a part of such current educational practices and to be leading the way with our students.
