OPEN HOUSE- Tuesday, September 9,  5:30pm - 7:00pm

Dear LWMS Students and Families, 

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We are excited that you will be back in just a few days. During the last days of summer, please take a moment to review the information below.  

7th graders-Did you get your shots? If not, please do so right away and make sure you deliver your current shot records. Who wants to sit in the auditorium the first day of school and miss all of the fun “welcome back” activities?

All students-

Please mark your calendars. Incoming 7th and 8th graders may pick up schedules on 8/14/15 from 5-7pm. Students new to LWMS and incoming 6th graders may visit the campus for Orientation on 8/15/14 from 1:30pm-3:00pm.  

PE uniforms are NOT required. You may purchase plain, light colored tees and dark colored basketball shorts (to the knees) at any location.  

School clothes shopping? Remember, NO holes in jeans above mid-thigh, NO saggy pants, NO low cut or high cut tops, NO workout tees with large arm holes, all shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh, and all tops must be three fingers wide at the shoulder. Please make sure to dress for academic success! 

Please do not bring electronic devices to school. On early release days, we will continue to have "Electronics Day" but during the school year electronic devices will not be permitted.

On April 26th LWMS held it's annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Spruce Creek.

Congratulations to Mr. Santarsiero, 6th grade Social Studies teacher, on being named the Marion County Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year.

All means ALL! All staff will hold high expectations for all students. All students will learn and achieve. All parents will participate in their child’s education in a meaningful way. All school leaders will support families, students, and teachers in order to return to the community educated and inspired youth.


Today is a new day. I will use my education and relationships to overcome challenges and to achieve my hopes and dreams for the future. I will get something from today; what that will be is up to me. I choose hard work, responsibility, and respect for self and others because at Lake Weir Middle we SOAR!
