FCAT Science - 8th Grade

All 8th grade students will take the FCAT Science paper-based test on Tuesday, April 28th. Please be sure your child is present and on time for school! For more information about the FCAT, please read the FCAT Information letter

Florida Standards Assessment (FSA)

The Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) will be administered beginning on April 13 through May 8th. Students will be assigned to a testing group to test on specific dates in the areas of English Language Arts and Math.
  • Students will be testing in one of three groups - A, B, or C. Ask your child on Friday, April 10th which group he or she is in.

Please be sure that your child is present to test! This is an important part of the school year and we need for each student to be in attendance to ensure that they are able to test on schedule.

  • Do you or someone you know love to Golf? Lake Weir is hosting our 13th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday April 25th, 2015. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your business to be recognized in our community for your support. Important: Is your 6th grader ready for 7th grade? All Students entering the 7th grade MUST have a Tdap vaccine, tetanus, diphtheria adn acellular pertussis booster. Beat the back to school rush. Staff from the Florida Department of Health in Marion County will be at LWMS to provide teh Tdap booster at NO COST OR COPAY to you!! WHERE: Lake Weir Middle WHEN: May 14th from 3:30 - 5:00pm *Parent/Guardian must be present with student*




If you are interested in volunteering your time at Lake Weir Middle we ask that  you please fill out volunteer applicatiion and attach a copy of your drivers licence. Applications can be delivered to the front desk or returned to school with your student. Click here for the application.
