Our $21-million school opened August 23, 2010, and ended its first two weeks of classes with 684 students – 43 percent more than projected. The school can accommodate just over 1,000 students, including those with special needs, thanks to a dedicated classroom wing still under construction.
Marion Oaks Elementary is two stories and features over 50 classrooms – many equipped with the latest learning technology, a cafeteria with stage area, media center, art and music rooms, and administrative area with two-story lobby.

All academy classes are working toward a goal of 800 steps in reading. Each step is equal to 15 minutes of independent reading. Academy students read for 30 minutes in class each day and 30 minutes at home each night.
Kelvin is 1/2 way to his goal. He is the in Mrs. Heller's first grade and is the very first student to do so. He has earned 400 steps in reading...that is 100 HOURS of reading! Bravo!!
