Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Registration for After School Creative Drama is now closed. On the reverse side of this page is a list of sessions and the students who are enrolled in each. Please review this page and make note of the dates and times students are enrolled.
For those who are new to the program here are a few details. The creative drama program is a six-week activities-based program and designed to help students develop the skills they will need when they move to more performance-based opportunities. Using a variety of games and drama exercises, students will learn and develop basic movement, voice, communication and listening skills as well as expand their imagination and creativity.
Students will report to me at the end of the school day at 2:20. We will meet in the Dance/Art hallway by the cafeteria. While waiting for everyone to arrive, students will have time to use the restroom and get a drink of water. Due to budget and time constraints, snacks will not be provided. However, if students wish to bring a small snack of their own, they may do so.
At 2:30 (or sooner if possible) we will proceed to the drama portable for class. If weather does not permit us to go out to the portable, we will hold class on the stage.
At 3:10, students will gather their backpacks and belongings and we will proceed to the cafeteria in line for release at 3:15. We will release students in this order. First, those students in Extended Day will be released to their after school group leaders. Next, students who attend the Croskey Center will be escorted to Ms. Ruotolo’s dance room who will take them to the center with her dance students. Finally, students who are being picked-up will be walked to the SOUTH doors of the cafeteria (the ones closest to the parking lot/car line). Parents/guardians should meet them at the south doors. Please, DO NOT come to the Drama Portable or to the north door of the cafeteria (picnic table exit) to meet and pick up a student.
All of this information and any updates will be posted on the Madison Street Website. You can access the appropriate page by clicking on the ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS tab on the left side of the home page. Once on the Enrichment program page, scroll down and click on the Creative Drama link.
