Reread Section 1, Chapter 14 and the assessment questions for this lesson should have been completed for today. We will continue with this chapter and lessons 2 and 3 should be read. You need to be studying each evening and completing the reading and studying vocabulary and people. Take some initiative and answer questions on your own and define vocabulary.

All classes meet tomorrow and the outline assigned for Chapter 16, Section 1 should be finished. This includes your vocabulary terms in the outline. Everyone should be studying and answering questions on their study guides. We will be discussing this section tomorrow and moving on to reading documents about the Mayas.

Writing exams tomorrow and Friday and students need to have pencils in class. We will continue working on the study guides with time remaining.

We will begin Chapter 16 on Monday.

Some students are making up chapter tests tomorrow due to missing class for the FCAT testing.

Everyone needs to be answering questions on their study guides to discuss during class time. Please be sure your guides are in class.

All classes will meet tomorrow. Chapter 13 test will be given tomorrow for all four sections.  Students that were testing during class time will be given the test next week so everyone has time to study. I will talk with individual students tomorrow about this chapter and make-up test date. We also had a binder check so binders should be ready to check if absent.

Classes 2,4,6- Reread Sections 1 and 2 for Chapter 13 and study your vocabulary terms and main ideas. You may read the next two sections for tomorrow. We will discuss these sections and finish vocabulary and main ideas.  Binder check tomorrow.

Test on Chapter 13 is Friday for all classes.

Classes 2,4,6 meet tomorrow:  We are going to study Sections 1 and 2 tomorrow and complete definitions and assessment questions. You may read these two sections this evening. We will continue with this chapter on Thursday and then have a chapter test on Friday.

All classes meet on Friday and we will have a Chapter 13 test.

Classes 1,3,5 tomorrow:

Reread Sections 1 and 2 of Chapter 13 and complete the vocabulary definitions and assessment questions for each sections. We will continue with the next two sections tomorrow and have a test on this chapter Friday. You need to be reading and studying the lessons and vocabulary.

Reread Section 1 and continue to Section 2 of Chapter 11 to read and complete the definitions of the vocabulary terms-that includes people and their accomplishments.

All vocabulary terms for Chapter 11 are due on Thursday or Friday as well as the blue Document Activities Book pages 19-26. We worked in this book before our vacation.

Vocabulary terms for Section 1, Chapter 11, need to be defined and the section read for tomorrow.  Anyone absent that has not taken their Chapter 10 test must do so tomorrow.

All make-up work needs to be turned in to me tomorrow.

Vocabulary terms for Section 1, Chapter 11 needs to be completed for tomorrow's classes-Block 1,3,5. Read Section 1 also. Please be sure to have your blue Document Books in class. They should be in your History section of your binder.

If you have not taken Chapter 10 test, it needs to be completed by Friday.

Chapter 10 make-up tests will be tomorrow.

Vocabulary definitions for Chapter 11, Section 1, will be due on Thursday or Friday and to read Section1.  We are continuing to follow the same instructions for defining the words with a foldable or in your notebook. Remember sentences need to be a part of the definition.

Classes 1,3,4,5,6: All of the vocabulary words are to be defined for tomorrow and to read the Section 3 for discussions. Test on this chapter is planned for Tuesday, so you should be studying your words and people and the main ideas.

Class 2- Due to the play attendance, your vocabulary is due on Monday, but you need to read Section 3 for tomorrow.

No homework unless you did not take Chapter 9 test and need to make up the test on Monday.

We are finishing Chapter 11 tomorrow or Friday and Section 3 needs to be read. All vocabulary for this chapter will be checked for a grade as well as the Blue Document pages 19-26.  Please have everything completed for class and no excuse of leaving it at home.

Read Section 3, Chapter 9 for tomorrow and all vocabulary terms defined. You should be learning the vocabulary terms and people to prepare for the chapter test at the end of this week.

Chapter 9 test on Friday. All classes meet on Friday.

Reread Section 2 for Chapter 9 and be sure the vocabulary terms are completed. We will be completing  a foldable tomorrow on Sparta and Athens.

No homework over the week-end if the foldable has been completed in class.

Read the Florida Connection on page FL 255 to learn the connections between Greece and Florida. Answer the questions on page 259 following the reading of historical facts on the previous page. Vocabulary terms and people need to be definied for this section and giave descriptions of the people in the lesson. Learn who they were and their accomplishments.

Classes 2,4,6: Chapter 8 test for tomorrow. Be sure to study your vocabulary terms and people. All make-up work is due tomorrow.

Read Section 2 and 3 for discussion over the next two days and finishing on Thursday or Friday before the chapter test. Take some notes for remembering details as you read and to be able to join class discussions.

Test on Chapter 8 will be Thursday or Friday.

Read Section 1, Chapter 8, pages 228-233. Describe the geography of Greece which are the landforms, describe city-states and trade. You should write a three paragraph summary for each of these topics from Section 1.

Vocabulary definitions should always be completed for each section.

Make-up quiz tomorrow for Sections 1 and 2, Chapter 7. All work for Chapter 7 needs to be completed.

Read the connection between Florida and Greece on page FL 1 and 2, 223. Beginning Chapter 8 tomorrow with the introduction to this chapter.

Reread Section 1 and complete some notes and vocabulary terms as you read. Read Section 2 and also complete the vocabulary terms and take notes for a good class discussion tomorrow.

Quiz on Thursday or Friday on Sections 1 and 2, Chapter 7. I'll also be completing random homework checks so be prepared each day. Do not leave assignments at home, all work should be in your notebook.

Classes 2,4,6; We will complete our discussion on Section 4 and 5, Chpater 6. Try to complete the supporting details for the main ideas I gave you Wednesday for Section 4. Read Section 5 to discuss.

Complete the classwork on writing supporting details for the main idea that I provided for you in class. Reread Section 5 for Thursday or Friday.

Reread Section 4 on the Han Dynasty and answer the assessment questions on page 183, questions 1,2,3. Remember that there are several quesitons for each question. Answers should be in good compound/conplex sentences.

No homework over the week-end but reading of Chapter 6, Sections 1-4 should be completed as well as all vocabulary terms defined and studied.

Binder check next week on Thursday or Friday. Clean up your binder if necessary!

Reread the ending of Section 2 on pages 169-171 for review tomorrow and then read Section 3, pages 172-176 and continue with adding words to your vocabulary term bank. Remember that you may add extra words that are not just on the terms at the beginning of the lesson. You may be allowed to use these vocabulary terms during your test.

Binder check will be January 10 or 11, 2013.

Reread Section 1, Chapter 6, and be prepared to show me your vocabulary that includes physical features and dynasties. This needs to be in some type of web design/graphic organizer.

Read Section 1, Chapter 6, pages 160-165.  Begin working on your vocabulary organizers for this lesson to include vocabulary words, physical features, people, dynasties. Complete the acrostic poem we started in class.

We are beginning our Chapter 6 and I want everyone who has internet access to go to the student portal and then the e-books to locate our book and to learn about the resources available on line. We will have some demonstrations for the activities that may be useful.

Everyone needs to open their textbook to Chapter 6 and review the sections, pictures, etc. for this chapter. Everyone needs to decide on the best way to learn your vocabulary words and people. Maybe a graphic organizer that works for you that is from another class. Think about a practice that will be helpful for you to study these sections.

Classes 2,4,6: Read and study Section 5 of Chapter 5 for discussion tomorrow. The chapter test will follow after our discussion. Please go back to Section 1 and review for the test by refreshing your learning for vocabulary words, events, and people.
