Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is hard to believe that we are almost half way through this school year! Mr. Womack (a.k.a. Mr. Q) and I look forward to continuing to share in this year's growth and educational journey.
Please share in our pride of your student's accomplishments, both academically, emotionally, and socially. Sometimes our pride comes from simple acts of kindness to great academic achievements, but we are always cheering your students on towards success.
Behaviors are always a concern near the mid-point of the school year. We have several field trips and other fund raisers planned for after the start of the third nine weeks and all students must have good behavior, passing grades, and successful spanses of time in order to be considered a part of these great opportunities. Please maintain open communication with us so that we can make a game plan that will enable the continued success of your student.
Mr. Q and I would like to state the importance of your student's attendance. We have a power packed remainder of the school year in store for your students and missing one day can equate to several days of makeup. We understand that there will be the need to miss from time to time and will do our best to accomodate this need by allowing two to three days to turn in all make up work.
Also, please encourage your student to be active readers. We want your student to gain access to the once forbidden world of knowledge and understanding by taking the printed text and bringing it to life. Studies have shown a direct correlation between positive behaviors and reading growth in students. As a cohesive unit, we all have to work together to ensure every student has a positive end goal.
Please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Mr. Womack "Q" concerning your student. We welcome your feedback, concerns, participation, and suggestions to ensure the most enriching remainder of the year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smokie West
