New Web Tools for Parents Launched
The Florida Department of Education has launched a new web resource designed with parents in mind. The new “Success Measures” website will help parents understand how changes to Florida’s standards and assessments in the months and years ahead will impact their children. The most valuable element of the new site is the “Success Measures Pathways Tool” that can be used to generate a personalized report detailing what is being taught and tested for their student. Parents need only enter the school year, grade level and courses their student will be taking. The new Pathways Tool then generates a brief report detailing the assessments aligned with the courses, as well as a thorough listing of the content covered on those assessments. To utilize the new tool, visit www.fldoe.org/SuccessMeasures.
WPHS Letterman Jackets
A letterman jacket is a jacket traditionally worn by high school and college students in the United States to represent school and team pride as well as to display personal awards earned in athletics, academics, or activities. Letterman jackets are also known as "varsity jackets" in some places. Official West Port High letterman jackets are now available for purchase from Athletic Director Robbie Lindeman. Don't miss out! Submit your completed order form and payment to Coach Lindeman.

Parent Portal
Parents now have the opportunity to keep a close eye on their student’s grades by registering for the Parent Portal. The Parent Portal will give parents the opportunity to go into the teachers’ gradebooks and monitor the academic performance of their child. Registering is simple. West Port parents should stop by the front office to register for the Parent Portal. You will need a valid photo ID. Once your identification has been verified, you will be given a PIN and a set of activation directions. You can register all of your children at one school even if some of them do not attend that school. Parents can complete the account activation at home within five minutes by following the online prompts. Teachers will begin entering grades after Labor Day.
