Student Network Accounts
Every student enrolled at West Port High School has been assigned a student network account username and password that they can use to access any computer on campus and save their documents to a personalized folder located on the school servers.
A student’s username is their firstname.lastname and they can obtain their password from any of their teachers or other staff members on campus. If a student needs to have their password reset they should stop by the front office and see Ms. Newport.
Student Email - Live@edu
Through a partnership with Microsoft every West Port High School student has also been assigned a school email account that they may use to email their peers and teachers. The student's email account is firstname.lastname@marionstudents.net.

Office Web Apps - Live@edu
Also part of the Live@edu network students have access to Office Web Apps. These convenient online companions to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint offer an easy way to access, view, and edit documents directly from your web browser. Now students can continue to work on school projects at home even if they do not have Microsoft Office on their home computer.

On-Campus Wireless Laptop Access
West Port High School is fortunate to be able to offer students the opportunity to bring personal laptops to school and make use of the wireless network on our campus. This is a great opportunity to learn how to use a laptop as a learning tool in preparation for attending college or obtaining a job. It is a privilege, not a right to use an electronic device on campus. A violation of county and school rules will be dealt with based on the guidelines in the Student Code of Conduct.
Please be aware that West Port High School and Marion County Public Schools personnel will not repair, service, or troubleshoot a student electronic device.
Internet Connection
Only the Internet gateway provided by the school may be accessed while on campus. Air cards and other personal Internet connective devices are not permitted to be used to access outside Internet sources at any time.
Students are not authorized and will not be permitted to connect to the wired network on campus with personally owned laptops. Attempting to connect to the wired network will result in student laptop privileges being removed for the remainder of the school year.
Security
Responsibility to keep the electronic device secure rests with the individual owner. West Port High School is not liable for any device stolen on campus. It is recommended that skins (decals) and other custom touches are used to identify your electronic device from others.
Violations of Trust
Below is a list of violations that may result in the termination of the privilege to use any or all electronic devices on school grounds.
